A Kansas man bought 3 Mega Millions lottery tickets, saying he was more likely to be hit by lightning than win. It turned out to be exactly right.
The 48 year-old Wichita man, Bill Isles, was struck by a bolt of lightning in the back yard of his home within hours of buying the Mega Millions tickets.
"It threw me to the ground, quivering," he told Reuters. "It kind of scrambled my brain and gave me an irregular heartbeat."
The volunteer weather spotter for the National Weather Service was kept in a local hospital overnight, but apparently suffered no permanent effects. Or wins.
