Known only as ‘Crazy Cat Lady’, an anonymous winner picked up $12.5 million in the January 19 draw. She was one of two winners in the Colorado Lotto+ jackpot.

The avid knitter and weaver checked her ticket on the official website. When she typed in her set of numbers, according to the lottery, she thought, "You have got to be kitten me.”

The winner purchased her lucky winning ticket matching all six numbers at the Safeway Fuel Center in Monument.

Winning numbers for Jan. 19, 2022 were: 5-8-12-18-36-40.

Then she immediately called her sister with the news. "You'd better sit down for this," she began.

She decided on the annuity option which will pay out $12.5 million over 25 graduated annual payments.

The Monument resident's plan for the first two prize payments will go to paying off her mortgage and bills after some practical advice given to her by her accountant.

The lucky Lotto+ player has one cat at the moment, but has owned as many as six cats at one time. She thought her furry friend might want a gilded food dish, but the kitty only wanted belly scratches!
