Master origami maker crafts sculptures from lottery tickets

A massive billboard grabs your attention. But here's the twist - the intricate paper model you're admiring is crafted from a single lottery ticket. Sounds unbelievable, right?

Phillip Fickling, a master of paper engineering, poured his heart and soul into this creation for a New Zealand Lotteries advertisement.

The level of detail is mind-blowing. On one of his creations, it goes right down to a palm tree complete with a hammock that looks like it's inviting you to kick back and relax.

Phillip isn't new to this game. He's made several of these incredible models, and yes, each one is fashioned from a real Lotto ticket. Imagine the precision it takes.

To bring these tiny masterpieces to life, he wore a magnifying lens on his head, joking that his "sausage fingers" were too big to handle the delicate parts without tweezers.

But it wasn't all smooth sailing. Picture this scene: the Sphinx's head, a crucial part of one model, slips from his grasp and hits the floor.

Before Phillip can rescue it, his dog scoops it up, mistaking it for a snack. Disaster? Yes.

But it's all in a day's work for a paper engineer with Phillip's dedication and skill.
