Between them, two Calgary area players brought home over $1 million in the spinning game that has everyone talking.

Dustin Long spun the Big Spin wheel and won $250,000.

The Calgarian bought his $5 Big Spin ticket from a Petro Canada station at 1840 Ninth Avenue S.E. in Calgary.

"When you grab the wheel to give it a spin, there's a lot going through your mind," Long said.

Richard Ford described how he bought his ticket back in July.

He purchased the Bigger Spin ticket in Ardrossan, a hamlet about 30 km east of Edmonton.

Ford discovered his win immediately after he scanned his ticket using the store’s self-check machine, then had to wait until this October for the next spin event schedule.

“I was working when I stopped at the gas station for lunch and bought a ticket with a co-worker,” he continued. “The next thing you know, I’m winning!”

His $800,000 win was the largest in the region, and he has already made plans to spend some of it on a motorcycle.

“My wife and I are going to stop at the Harley store,” he said.

Ford also said he plans to pay off debt and take a trip with his recent windfall.

“It’s nice not to have to worry about finances for a bit,” he added.

There are two ticket types available:

The BIG SPIN costs $5 to play and has a prize range of $5 – $500,000.

The BIGGER SPIN costs $10 to play with double the prize range from $10–$1,000,000. It features two additional scratch games per ticket.

A player can win cash prizes with the instant scratch ticket alone.

HOW TO PLAY THE BIG SPIN GAME:
1. Scratch Your Ticket. Ask your retailer for either THE BIG SPIN ($5) or BIGGER SPIN ($10) and scratch the game areas.

2. Check Your Ticket. See if you won by checking at your retailer, online at OLG.ca, or using the OLG App.

3. Watch. If your scratch ticket prize is a “SPIN”, then you get a guaranteed prize from the animated wheel on the lottery terminal in the store.

4. Spin. If the in-store wheel lands on BIG or BIGGER SPIN, then you’ve won the chance to spin THE BIG SPIN or BIGGER SPIN Wheel for a guaranteed prize!

But they can also uncover a 'Spin Win' and then learn about their prize through an animated prize wheel on the screen of their local Lotto Spot retailer.

If a player's Spin Win prize reveals a 'Big Spin', they get a $10,000 prize along with a chance to spin an actual wheel - like those above in the photos - at their own spin event.

A Big Spin winner can win any prize amount from $100,000 to $500,000.

A Bigger Spin winner can take home anything from $200,000 up to $1 million.
