Unluckiest UK lottery player gets right ticket numbers - but on WRONG draw

When UK student Rossi Carmina bought a EuroMillions ticket on Jan 3, his results on the National Lottery website showed that he hadn’t won any prize in that week.
But when the 23-year-old checked his numbers on the app, he was astonished to find they all matched the Jan 7 draw. He had entered the wrong draw date when he purchased online, and his £14,189,900 (US$19 million) ticket was worthless.
Rossi, from Bromley, south London, said: "It's lucky to have the chance for the numbers to match, but to not buy the ticket is the complete opposite. You feel like the most unlucky person in Britain at the time.”
"It hit home in the next two days. I was contemplating all the things I could have done. I could buy my mum a new home and buy a Ferrari. It's hard not to think about it. I'd have been set for life."
The freelance artist has admitted that this coincidence has made it hard to concentrate on his uni deadline this month.
But he hasn't been put off entering the lottery in the future and said he will still buy a ticket 'every so often'.
